Nepal Economics Olympiad(NEO) is an event organized to discover, encourage, motivate, unite, train, challenge, and give chance to represent the nation internationally for high school students who are exceptionally talented in economics, business, and finance. The event is mainly focused on training and selecting five of the best high school students in the field of economics, business, and finance. The event will take place in two phases: regional selection and national competition.

The Logical and Critical Thinking at NEO challenges students' understanding of economic principles, covering topics like microeconomics, macroeconomics, and international economics. Designed to test analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, this exam prepares participants for academic and professional careers in economics, encouraging a deeper appreciation for the subject and fostering continuous learning and intellectual growth.
The Financial Literacy Test at NEO tests students' understanding of personal finance through financial questions. Participants make choices of answers based on their financial knowledge and understanding. This test promotes informed financial decision-making, highlighting the importance of financial planning and fostering a proactive attitude towards financial literacy and responsibility.
The Business Case Analysis at NEO allows students to apply economic and business knowledge to real-world scenarios. Working in teams, participants analyze business challenges and present strategic solutions. This activity hones teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills, preparing students for future careers in business and economics by addressing real-world business problems confidently and competently.

NEO is a nationwide annual competition for Economics enthusiasts who are fascinated by all the economic theories, pricing mechanisms and have the potential to learn about personal finances and are aspiring entrepreneurs in the making.
Any high school student aged under 20 and who hasn’t completed their high school education or is the recent high school graduates are eligible to participate
The competition will be divided into three stages: Regionals, Nationals and International competition. In the regional competition, we test the economic fundamentals. From regional competition, Top 100 participants will get to participate in National Competition. In the National competition we have: Economics, Business Case Analysis, and Financial Literacy, in which they will be able to demonstrate their understanding of economics as well as team spirit and leadership characteristics.
The top 5 students from the National competition will get to represent Nepal in International Economics Olympiad.
